I have a unique situation regarding a city maintained-tree with an aggressive root system that is causing different types of damage. I needed an expert analysis so that I can be sure to explain the issue properly without having to make any assumptions or guesses, as I am not a tree expert with any training. I also want to be able pull the permits to mitigate the property damage while still preserving the health of the city tree, if possible. I received a well-written and researched report that was well worth the money I paid, considering the complexity. There is no doubt in my mind whether I will have any difficulty getting the information across through the proper channels. The report spells out everything clearly in expert vernacular so that I can be confident that any misunderstanding of the issue is very unlikely. Killian was able to determine that the problem roots were far enough from the tree so that cutting them at the site of the damage was unlikely to be a problem, and further found that there was a significant amount of rotten material in a root flare at the base of the city tree, which was something that I was not even aware of. This could be a concern in the future and requires careful observation, according to the report. Several other identical city trees on my street have already fallen over in inclement weather and caused significant damage to my neighbors' properties. First, when I contacted the company on their website with inspection services I needed for my very large oak tree, Killian Vendler responded promptly with a written detail breakdown of estimate for the options. Afterwards, we spoke on the phone and he was able to come out the same day. Wow!!! During our site meeting, Killian explained all the recommended work very clearly and explaining in detail the reason for his recommendations. He showed me the major recommended tree work on the photos he took during his walk through. We lost most everything in the Eaton Altadena fire including well over a hundred fruit trees and dozens of landscape trees. The few plants and trees that weren’t lost were very damaged. His appraisal report of our loss included many pages of photos, maps, charts, and diagrams. He meticulously calculated everything, using his skill as an appraiser arborist to measure and project everything from the existing stumps and damaged vegetation -- all the replacement and damage costs.
